At Young Readers' Society, we make reading engaging by integrating hands-on activities like arts and crafts, movement, and games that tie into the books we explore. By blending creativity with learning, we aim to inspire a love of reading in every child and help them develop crucial literacy skills in an interactive and enjoyable way.
What we do

For the past two years, we’ve been dedicated to making reading more accessible and enjoyable for young children. A core part of our mission is collecting and distributing second-hand children’s books to families across London. These gently used books are bundled into themed reading packages, helping to spark a love for reading in children who might not otherwise have access to books at home.
We partner with George Eliot Primary School to support young readers aged 5 to 7, building confidence through engaging read-aloud sessions and creative craft activities. Beyond the classroom, our biweekly literacy events at London-based hospitals bring the magic of storytelling to children in need of comfort, connection, and inspiration.

Make a donation
Every dollar you give goes directly to purchasing new and gently used books for children in our community. We partner with local organizations to make sure every child has a book of their own, because every child deserves the joy and opportunity that reading brings.
Just $5 can put a book into a child's hands, opening a door to imagination, learning, and a brighter future. Together, we can make sure no young reader is left behind.
